After a long journey, we got to Le Fosso mid afternoon. The place itself is just so peaceful, tranquil and welcoming. We were met by Christina and Chris calling from their balcony. We had arrived.
The boys couldn’t wait to make sure that all of the animals were still there, especially Isodore the pony and Bichanne the goat!!!
As more families arrived we gathered for a couple of drinks to unwind in the lovely courtyard, and as the sun went down, we had our first dinner together. The boys were all a bit awkward to begin with, but by the second day they sat on one table with their sibling helpers and the adults sat on another!!!
We managed to squeeze in lots of activities, including bowling, a fabulous visit to the famous Brittany ‘golden tree’ (below) and surrounding area, the Magic Forest project in a town called Huelgoat -, which was a lovely quaint town, visiting some nearby medieval, a motor cross competition in the next town and a trip to the beach where we found some beautiful shells and the boys went for a ride along the slipway. Mike arranged a sports day for us, with a Pallet tournament and fishing, and he also organised a treasure hunt around Le Fosso, including loads of information about the history of the area. Most days we had a lovely group picnic, supplied for us.
We also took a day out and visited Mont San Michel and the nearby Zoo de Champrépus (on the only day it poured with rain!!).
In the evenings we did traditional Brittany dancing, a quiz, a trip to the pub for Brittany music night (and beer!) many card games and loads of laughter. The whole trip was about making friends and all being together.
Mike and Hilary at Le Fosso are so lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them, which makes for such a relaxing holiday.
Thanks again DFSG, we had a wonderful time !!!!!
